We, most likely, know each other then.
We graduated the same year. But I moved a few years before that. Back to Batesville and then to Searcy.
Had at least one that played for the Hogs as a long snapper. Cat named Benji Mahan. Did the NWA football coaching thing and then coached the Bombers for a couple years.
Another one, Cody McNabb played at ATU I believe, and won a state championship as a coach at Morrilton. IIRC.
I suppose you played with those guys.

Anybody know if Decatur still has a football team? I moved away when I was 14 and never looked back.

Springdale only won by 20?

Yeah, I played with them. I broke my shoulder socket my sophomore season. I had to wear a special harness during games to keep my shoulder in place. School insurance finally made me have surgery after my junior season or I wouldn't be allowed to play my senior season. While O was rehabbing that shoulder I hurt my other shoulder and said to hell with it and didn't play my senior season.
Yep. Benji was the kid that Danny Ford offered when he took that RV and traveled the state. I was hoping he would be able to have some success there, but he just never could turn them around.
I was happy to see Cody win State at Morrilton. Cody is a great guy. If he's smart, and I know he is, he will never consider trying to coach the Bombers. Would be a career killer.
I moved on from Mtn Home and only go back a few times a year to visit my parents.
The only time I've ever seen the Bombers play tough football is when that coach from Louisiana coached them for a few seasons. Took them to State and then he left for a Springdale school.
I'm going to rack my brain trying to figure out who you are.

I quit football in the 7th grade primarily due to being undersized for what the coaches wanted me to play (offensive line). I was 5'3" about probably about 110 lbs at the time. Coach Morris' staff was horrible at teaching the game to anyone that wasn't a linebacker, tailback/fullback, or quarterback. Didn't wanna get to where I hated the game, discussed it with my family and decided to go ahead and stop but pick it back up in the 9th grade. Ended up moving before then. It was a success story, I ended up being 6'1" at a fighting weight of about 205-ish by the time I was 16. Did a few football camps to catch up on the football IQ and levied a friend of my grandfather's to help me out in the off-season, he was an assistant coach at Batesville JHS. Had a good high school stint as an upperclassman TE/DE with some TB/FB.
I could list the people I fought in Junior High.
Lol.
I survived, which means that I never fought Rocky Tyler, Jamie Crawford, or Jeremy Jessup (even though Jessup squared me away when I got jumped once).
I "dated" Kara Kemp for a few minutes when we were young and have a brother that was married Mrs. Carter's daughter.
My last name is Williams.
Lived down the street from Jody Wickersham and directly in front of Pinkston Middle School.
Post your last name and I'll probably recognize you. Or you could tell me what position you played in the 7th grade. I could narrow down who you are.
In the 8th grade, right before I transferred, I got in a fight with Jon Cruise in the middle of an assembly. lol.

Sheridan at Mountain Home should be some wannabe white boys fighting some grown country boys behind the visitor's bleachers or something
Guess the outcome means you were referring to Sheridan as the 'grown country boys?

If I'm not mistaken, Decatur is one of about 8 teams that decided to play 8 man football this year. Will get the list for you.
Well, can't find the complete list on short notice, but yes, Decatur is 8 man this year. Others include (that I remember) Woodlawn, Hermitage, Espicopal Collegiate.

Beebe off to a stunning 0-1 start after another loss to Greenbrier. I remember when we used to kick the crap out of them.
