Bret Bielema needs to be on that list. 11-29 in SEC games.

Those are GOAT numbers compared to Ears Whitworth. In 3 seasons he was 3-18-1 in the SEC and 4-24-2 overall at Alabama.

For comparison:

In the 3 years before Whitworth, Harold Drew went 20-10-5 (11-5-4 in the SEC) with an SEC title, Orange bowl win, and Cotton Bowl loss.

In the 3 years after Whitworth, Paul Bryant went 20-7-5 with a Liberty bowl loss and a Bluebonnet bowl tie. He then won the national title in 1961.

No coach in the history of this conference has managed to do so little with so much than Jennings B "Ears" Whitworth.

Anybody who doesn't think Whitworth was the worst SEC coach ever has never heard of him.

No.2 on is pretty debatable. At least #3 on is, since the guy at Auburn seems pretty bad.

But #1 is hardly up for debate.

And his quarterback was Bart Starr. Won the first 2 Super Bowls, 2 time Super Bowl MVP, multiple Pro Bowls, NFL Most Valuable Player, Pro Football Hall of Fame.

After checking my facts, I guess Starr played only 1 year for Whitworth.
