You guys claim alot of natty's that aren't real
Only one - 1941. I have no idea why they claim that one. The rest are very reasonable, valid claims. Also, Bama doesn't claim 1945 when they were 10-0 and stomped USC 34-14 in the Rose Bowl for their first Rose Bowl loss after 9 wins. Army had a valid claim, but so did Bama. That was one of Bama's greatest teams, but they finished number 2. But that's the breaks.
Don't count 1966 when started number one, went 11-0, the only undefeated/untied team in the country, 2 time defending NCs and humiliated #6 Neb in the Sugar Bowl 34-7.
Don't count 1977 when Bama was 3, then 1 and 2 lost, but ND at 5 jumped Bama to be number 1. Bama stomped OSU 35-7 in the Sugar Bowl. ND had a valid claim, but so did Bama.

So you'll understand that we're skeptical
Oh, we understand why you are skeptical - ignorance and/or envy. Many other fans respect what various programs do. I know it's tough for you OM fans. You were great from the late 40s through the early 60s, though you never a NC. You finished in the top 7 maybe 7 times during that period. You were great. Even now you play with great heart. Most don't realize that it was OM that Alabama and Bryant had to overthrow when he returned. It was not UT or LSU or UGA, though they were good, as was AU and GT. Give some respect, it will make it easier for others to return it.

Thanks for spurring me on - I know that was your motive. So, happy to oblige.

Oh, I know where they are from. I did not list them as being native Alabamians. Just wanted to take another opportunity to note the state's success with regard to coaches. I just feel that you should pay a little extra when you make a false charge :-)
Btw, thanks for broaching the subject. I have been enlightened. I knew it was good, but not this good.

Kirby was born in Alabama, but Harry says he doesn't count because he's a Georgia guy.
But then, Bryant, Stallings, Saban, and Chizik were born elsewhere but achieved their greatest success in Alabama.
Can't have it both ways, Harry.

Bowl Jackson said he doesn't count.
So that was me accepting feedback from my constituency. If Bowl Jackson was wrong, that's on him.
I'm innocent.

Pruitt hasn't proven anything but that he's a great coordinator. That doesn't always translate to head coaching.

Unpossible. You couldn't possibly be more safe.

And congrats to you and all of Mississippi for having many decades of great native coaches from your home state.
Don’t know what the number is now, but there was a time not so long ago that the state of Mississippi had the most players in the NFL.

Completely true. But he was not in a great or good coach list, just in a college HC from Alabama list. He does belong there.

Missippi has never had the most players in the NFL in raw numbers.
Missippi once lead per capita, but so has Alabama, Louisiana, and South Carolina.
All the Deep South states with certain demographics are going to be hovering around the top of most players per capita.

Thank you for the correction...
It was the year after Katrina.
Saints played Dallas in a preseason game in Jackson Miss.
Tony Romo played. Lot of talk about him taking the starting job.
