Drew Locke: is hype warranted?

no troll, he has a cannon and has put up some amazing numbers, but I cannot think of a single big game he has won. There are a lot of younger qbs in the league who have led their team to big wins in the 4th quarter. Drew is not one of them that i am aware of.

Don’t forget his comeback vs mighty Missouri state

Which one of them had the massive coke problem? I lose track of my overrated, pasty white Mizzou QBs from time to time.

He beat Arkansas in the 4th quarter twice
(2016 and 2017)

He turns it over way too much for my taste. There's a lot of "frick it" in his game which is exciting but bad football in most cases.

Probably supported by superior supporting casts and defenses, we're seriously judging a QB off this nonsense? bet you think Dan Fouts is one of the worst QBs in the history of football with that logic

Who is Drew Locke? Never heard of him.

Well Hurts and Tua have and have had Calvin ridley, Denonte Smith, Henry Ruggs, Cam Sims, River Foster to throw to.
LSU qB have had great receivers to throw to.
Florida QB have good receivers to throw to.
Georgia has good receivers to throw to.
All of those teams also had good to great defenses. If he was at Alabama or Georgia he would likely be the starter as good as the two sophomores they have are. If he was at LSU, LSU would be a contender right now.

Kinda conflicted for me. He has great talent and sometimes throws a great ball but he's pretty inconsistent with his touch. Just have to see what he puts on the field this year and if he improves his touch more I'd say yeah he's got a shot of being the 1st qb taken.

Is hype warranted? Derrick Dooley is involved in his potential success this year, so a reasonable amount of tempering should go with the hype. I think he is a pretty good QB ftr.

Very warranted my friend who works the camp says buy the stock.

Yes. Next question pole smoker.

Drew Lock is a good qb. Best deep ball I have seen in some time. Every win Mizzou gets is because of his arm, because the Mizzou defense is Swiss cheese.

big win in the 4th quarter
Coaching changes, struggling team, Missouri, nfl departures...all of these factors contribute to his lack of a signature win.
But seriously, Locke is impressive

The hype is for real....but the team he has around him is not.

No big wins, 54.5% career completion percentage, doesn’t really run all too much? Not sure if I’m buying this kid. Also, let’s look at his stats in some of his games last year.
VS. South Carolina (L 31-13) - 14/32 for 245 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT.
VS. Purdue (L 35-3) - 12/28 for 133 yards, 0 TD and 2 INT. Keep in mind that’s at home.
VS. Auburn (L 51-14) - 23/39 for 216 yards, 2 TD and 1 INT.
VS. Tennessee (W 50-17) - 13/28 for 217 yards, 4 TD and 1 INT.
@ Vanderbilt (W 45-17) - 10/25 for 235 yards, 3 TD and 0 INT.
VS. Texas (L 33-16) - 18/34 for 269 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT.
@ Georgia (L 53-28) - 15/25 for 253 yards, 4 TD and 1 INT. Missouri scores 21 in the first half, but only 7 in the entire second half.
Based on what I saw of him last year and his game by game stats, it seems to me that he is a good deep ball thrower, but he will miss short and long passes and make multiple mistakes in a game. Not good signs for someone who’s projected to be the top QB in the draft.
Final notes - Drew averaged 330.33 YPG last year, but only averaged 288.77 YPG against teams not named Missouri State, UConn, or Idaho. Drew threw 44 touchdowns last year, but only 26 against teams not named Missouri State, UCONN, or Idaho. Drew completed 57.8% of his passes last year, but only 53.02% of his passes against teams not named Missouri State, UCONN, or Idaho.
He’s got some talent, but isn’t worth the hype.

He is a little over hyped but probably better then most QBs in the east . He plays on a bad team and has to take chances to win compared to someone Fromm who just has to manage the offense and not turn the ball over .

I agree what you said about not beat any good teams with the offense. The real reason was the offensive coordinator Josh Heupel was the biggest problem. Why did OU got rid of him? This year I believe he will do a lot better against good and great teams this year. Look at LSU for an example. They suck on offense due to the kind of offense they ran. Same with MIZZOU last year and the year before that. This year should be much better. Also way too many 3 and out plays.
