Batting averages. Cool. The fact Pilkington and Billingsley combined for 7 wins doesn't help your argument.
20 college players were selected in the 26th round last year. 17 signed pro. I'd pump on the breaks on assuming Ethan Small returns. He's not a "true" draft-eligible sophomore he's he's a R-So.
Bottom line I don't care how many returning (most light hitters) State has set to come back; the SEC eats young pitching alive.
But yeah you right everyone will improve and be All-Americans I'm sure. All 11 of those freshmen in the lineup will be world-beaters next year.

Well unless something has changed, Small will be back. Word is he was coming back if he wasn't drafted within the first 5 rounds. He wasn't.

How many of those that signed were sophomores? Him being a r-so has no impact. He's got two years of eligibility left and stands to improve his draft position by 15 rounds by returning, and still be eligible for a big contract. You show me how many sophs left in round 26, then I'll be worried.

Well it's a good thing no less than two of our weekend guys, and likely all 3, will have 1+ year experience in the SEC already. Plus a year of experience for our closer. Plus 1-2 yrs of experience for no less than 4 bullpen guys.
Dude are returning 80% of a team that is heading to Omaha this weekend.
The two weekend starters we are losing were:
Pilkington (1-5 5.65 ERA in SEC)
Billingsley (2-3 6.6 ERA in SEC)
I'm not saying our new pitchers are gonna come in and dominate, but that production isn't exactly difficult to come in and match. I promise we'll find someone that can throw at that level at the very minimum, which means no regression there.
I don't expect you to know everything there is to know about every team, but at least have some modesty when I educate you.
