Bingo. Any experienced SEC fan who travels to road games occasionally should be able to very quickly pick up on who is just having fun and who is being hostile and out of line (generally involving too much alcohol).

Smile and return favor to the first, walk past and ignore the second. Very easy. I've had very few of the second at any SEC school and none that weren't easily ignored.

Never had an issue with LSU, either.

Actually they were pretty damn awesome when we had to move our game from SC to LSU at the last minute when we had the floods here.

My brother and sister in law have lived in the NOLA area the last 14 years and we've been to almost every LSU/Bama game in BR since they've been there. The LSU fans have always been great. They take pride in their tailgating and go out of their way to show off and share their food and booze. There is also some serious talent at LSU and they like to throw down. In some ways I prefer how they get all dolled up like they do at Alabama, Ole Miss, and Auburn for example but at the same time they look good in those jerseys as well. The only complaint (and it's a minor one) I have about LSU tailgating is all the shitty rap music. At least 2 out of every 3 tailgates are blaring not only rap music but often shitty rap music.

Bama's tailgating is pretty standard although the setting on campus amongst all the buildings is really pretty. The single most impressive thing about ours imho is the logistical setup of the entire tailgating game day experience with the shuttle system and how totally organized everything is. They have it down to an art form.

Florida is too low, but the cocktail party should be #1.
