Because if there's one thing Kirby should be worried about, it's his lack of success in recruiting.

Well, according to most of the fanbase Kirby's recruiting success alone will determine the amount of championships UGA wins. I mean considering he's already a master of player development and the head coaching profession after only two seasons at the helm.

Between this thread and your signature, you seem to have a very specific interest.

You seem to think this an unreasonable expectation?

Did you completely miss this past season? You know the one where UGA won the SEC, The Rose Bowl, and almost beat the most dominant dynasty in college football history in OT for the natty?

If you could find me an example of someone saying that, I'd appreciate it. I don't think anyone actually says that. It's a huge indication of success, but obviously player development and in game decision making matters.

There's a well-established correlation between recruiting and success. With numbers and ampersands and all sorts of official-sounding stuff. Championships are won by good recruiters. Having a great coach gives you an edge over other teams with good recruiting (see Saban) but Auburn won a title with Gene fricking Chizik at the helm. And it wasn't just Cam -- one man cannot carry an entire football team the way one man can in basketball -- and it wasn't just Gus -- Gus' offenses aren't exactly world-beating examples of domination. It was the collection of talent that did the lion's share.
