I think he just made it clear...he “does not see it happening for him to Starkville”. Said the boxes are being checked to stay in Lexington. I will post the link to the podcast when it gets loaded.

Link to audio to interview of Nick.

“does not see it happening for him to Starkville” = "I do not see them offering me the position".

If we offer, he's gone. Worst case, you've still got him for this season.

Another Coach Nick said he was not going to Alabama. Then they opened the wallet. If Cohen wants him he'll get him. Notice he didn't say "I'M NOT LEAVING FOR STARKVILLE". Kentucky may check all the boxes, but Dudy Noble has bigger and better boxes.

The Jackson State PA guy announced him as our head coach when he did the line-ups last night.

Should we believe you or a guy from Jackson State? I'm confused.

2 of our last 3 head coaches are the last 2 former head coaches for Kentucky. It is only fitting that we get the last 3.

I am sure he is seeing this as an opportunity to get leverage from Kentucky tho

UK not to worry
We already have your previous coach and I think it is good chance that he might be permanent.
So all is good in Bluegrass country.

You mean he didn't announce that he was interested in a different job less than a week into the season with a consensus top10 team? Crazy

Seriously though, I could see him sticking around Lexington. He's definitely got ya'll trending in the right direction.

Alot of talk about the TCU assistant. Supposed to be the #1 recruiter in the nation. State won't pick anybody until the end of the season. I wouldn't be surprised if State keeps our interm.

My guess is we go after a bigger name.... I like Nick a lot and think he would do well in Starkville.

Do Gator fans still hate Nick? They accused him of tripping a player in Gainesville a few years ago

Most of the boxes were checked as of Tuesday. Kroger must have thrown some groceries at him yesterday if the rest of them got checked off.

Mingione was asked about the Mississippi State job after a 3-2 loss to Xavier Tuesday night. He was earnest and understanding of his connection to the position. “That’s to be expected, my name,” Mingione said. “I spent over a decade with coach Cohen, right? That’s like the obvious, right? Like, why w

He didn’t answer anything about his actual interest, but he was asked about Kentucky being a “dream job” after some of the development in the program in the decade since Cohen left.

“When you think about what’s important to you, I think it’s been really clear from day one: My faith is really important to me, my family and baseball. And you know what? This place checks off a lot of boxes,” he said. Mingione added his wife loves Lexington and the schools are great for his family.

Seems according to some State posters he isn’t good enough for them. Problem solved.

What you want to bet? I can tell you right now that if momma calls he'll be a coming. And not because of that new stadium being built.

We're not even 5 games into the season. Did you expect him to say that he was waiting on Cohen's phone call?
