I hope Luke is the greatest coach we've ever had, but like you, I'm just not overly optimistic. As a poster mentioned above, it's the fact that we are never mentioned by recruits, MS recruits at that, as being the ones recruiting them the hardest. It is absurd for any of the top 15 players in this state to say an LSU or Bama is recruiting them harder than us and also State. Both schools need in-state talent to succeed in the SEC and in the deepest year of talent the state has seen in years, this is an opportunity to have a top 10-15 recruiting class.

What other sanctions on recruiting were we agreeing to under the NCAA probe?

I know we gave up scholarships, but didn't they also cut our recruiting contact, and visits also?

Unless we can win our appeal, those won't change and the staff will still be limited to how much or how hard they can recruit a player.

I'm not sure that the sanctions aren't causing the issue with recruits and Ole Miss.

Ole Miss out recruited about 100 other schools last year. This with a bowl ban hanging over their heads.

I'm not ready to give up on Luke at all. The best thing I have to judge him on, is the team's finish from last season.

So his offensive line hire was a B+, if his linebacker coach hire is a B+ we should win 8 or 9 games this year. if that happens, I'm ready to stick with him until he does something worth getting rid of him.

And for all of you who think we were going to get a big name hire, while under the NCAA death grip, wake up.
