So you were able to see him grab the facemask despite the fact that the ball carrier was facing AWAY from the camera on the live broadcast? Let's also forget the fact that the player was also facing AWAY from the ref who would have been able to throw the flag. By the time the player's head had turned, the hand was no longer on the facemask. So unless the referee had x-ray vision, there was no way he could have known until the replay was shown that a penalty had occurred.

I was...10 times out of 10 when a players entire head suddenly whips to the side...it's a face mask. I did not have to see the hand to know that the only way for his head to make that kind of a move would be if his face mask was grabbed. I know that's probably like rocket science to you but its fact.
