Cool. I only care about this year.
so do a cross comparison of all the teams, you probably wont like the results.

What I'm really getting at is that there isn't a big enough gap between Alabama's schedule and UCF's schedule to outright dismiss UCF.
Its kind of laughable you think there isnt that much difference. your arguments against Alabama are the basis for UCF's schedule
quote:Who was the best team they played? Second and third best?
Considering that, as well as an undefeated record
quote:a non p5 conference title?
championships they won on the field
quote:They should be in the top ten, but they have no basis for being in the playoff four
it's an embarrassment for the committee to have them ranked where they were.
quote:
Memphis and South Florida are comparable wins to Mississippi State and LSU
oh come on now.
quote:
Also, at bringing up Auburn.
Auburn did not get up for UCF and played a shite game. happens all the time with teams in the same situation.
Your argument is akin to having a CFL team in the NFL playoff simply because they were undefeated in their league.

There's no reason to complain that Alabama might be the best team in the SEC, and should therefore make the playoff, if they weren't good enough to name them your champion. No more back doors into the playoff.
Gotcha. That's what I thought.
I agree with that too. If you want to be the best team in the country, be the best team in your conference first.
Been saying that ever since Nebraska played for the NC in 2001.

Oh, I think if we stack them up against each other, I'd like the results just fine.

No they aren't. I'm not sure you even know what point you're trying to make here...
quote:
Who was the best team they played? Second and third best?
Auburn. South Florida. Memphis.
quote:
a non p5 conference title?
A conference championship.
quote:

Yes they do. They should have at least been considered.
quote:
oh come on now.
It's accurate.
quote:
Auburn did not get up for UCF and played a shite game.
Motivation is the excuse you're going to use? Auburn's players looked pretty fricking motivated to me. Guess how I can tell you've never played football competitively...
The real problem Auburn had is they didn't have the best quarterback on the field, and they couldn't block a dude with a fricking nub for a hand. Dude lit your offensive line up.

Didn't they beat a 3-9 Uconn on the road? Sounds pretty legit.

Auburn
You dipshits keep trying to use the Auburn game as justification that they should have been included... that's not how this works...
You can say that "in hindsight" maybe they should have had a chance, but you're not validating any claim that they somehow have a right to National Championship ownership.
At the time of selection, they simply were not a top 4 team... reasonable individuals with no basis for dislike of any particular teams that may have been included tend to agree on this.
You are entitled to your own opinion, but if you can't provide a logical basis for it, expecting anyone to agree with you is silly... and thinking that anyone that disagrees with you is wrong when they in fact *do* provide a rational argument against it is asinine.
I'm done attempting to discuss this with you as you've continued to show your arse in that you're not interested in having a rational discussion based on logic or reason, and rather just want to troll... which is fine... this place is built on it. But the short and smarmy responses coupled with your claims of superior academic achievements are laughable... you have looked, and continue to look... like an idiot.

And if we get to use the hindsight argument... what win does UCF have that would equate to Clemson... since we now get to use hindsight for Alabama as well in this mythical fricking fairy dust world where everyone deserves trophies.

So all undefeated seasons are better than any season with a loss? This goes back to the original hypothetical that no one seems to want to answer... if say USC decides to leave the Pac12... play in the Mountain West instead... plays 1 P5 opponent and has another P5 game canceled due to wildfires... wins their conference are they a top 4 team if no other teams in the country are undefeated?
Since apparently we need no context to evaluate an undefeated season if there are none to compare it to, it would appear that your answer is yes... can you confirm? If not.. please offer up your analysis on why not.

Yes it is. That's how it's always worked. The committee didn't change that.

expecting anyone to agree with you
Here's your issue. I've said it numerous times now, and I'll say it again.
I don't care if people agree with me. I never will. I'm not here to change anyone's mind. I'm well aware of the fact that I'm on an SEC site, among Georgia and Alabama fans who will never see things differently regardless of what I say. I'll not waste my time. I'm here because I enjoy the shite talking. I don't want to talk to fans that aren't going to homer for their teams. That's boring AF.
Got it now? If not, I can break out the crayons.

Categorically false... if you can make a logical argument for it, I'm open to discussion. Now... that may not be your interest given the statement made afterwards, but to imply that for some reason because it's an SEC site that all fans are going to disagree with you just because _______ (pick your reasons)... it's embarrassing.
If you need crayons to construct your arguments, by all means use them... but for me I would have settled for any fully formed series of coherent thoughts that actually support your opinion(s). No sweat off my back... it just lets everyone know that it's unnecessary to discuss it with you...

ETA... NB4... but you said you were done...

Meaning the actual topic at hand... not an evaluation of our discussion thus far.

I dunno, maybe so. The Bucks will not play Cincy on a regular basis.
Posted on 1/5/18 at 3:41 pm to Damone
Mopped the floor? They only won by 7 points and yeah they beat Auburn who beat Alabama and Georgia whom lost to 7SU[who lost to Troy and State] and then lost to Georgia.

Your detractors on the alabama schedule are pretty much the foundation of ucf's

Yes a non p5 conference championship. You the types of conferences that comprise of teams that would be considered as weaknesses on the schedule of a p5 team.

That's very easy for you to say considering Georgia plays in the East. The Bulldogs were the only team from that division to finish ranked in the Top 25 at the conclusion of the regular season. Had Auburn been in the East instead of the West, they would have gone to Atlanta to play Alabama in a re-match of the Iron Bowl. Not Georgia.
And it's very possible Georgia still gets in due to their SOS this past season.
