Defenses don't "mesh" with offenses. A good defense is a good defense. Every defense is going to have better stats when paired with a pro-style, hold-on-to-the-ball style of offense, though.

I don't think he has to mesh with the offense. Just get three and outs.
The only issue with a 'score fast and often' offense (if that indeed happens) is the lack of recovery time between series for the defense, which increases the need for decent depth.
