Living with the Gumps and Barners who are too poor to move out of Alabama may be a fate worse than death

This is an enlightening thread about SEC related sports. Wpuld read again. Especially since it's within the rules to start a flame thread.

To be fair, Lee County is in West Georgia, right? At least according to ESPN.
Alabama is just about like any other state. There are places you want to be and places you do not want to be. That's also true for just about any city you could name.
Overall, Alabama's a pretty nice place. Biodiversity is off the charts with tons of outdoor activities. The golf is first class and attracts people from all over the world. Sugar sand beaches. Areas of high technology and low overall costs of living. Property taxes are about as low across the board as you will find.
Do we have problems? Sure. But so most places do, there is no perfect state or city. Not one. I live just outside the Huntsville area and think it is pretty nice. I can't claim to have been throughout the ENTIRE SEC footprint but I have been to most of the areas. There are a LOT of great places to live in the South, and I tend to think that north Alabama holds its own pretty well.

I actually enjoy spending weeks in the summer in Pelham.
They are close enough to Birmingham.

Not as much as Louisiana. They all speak weird, they eat over-seasoned food, they smell funny, and the entire state is like one big ghetto neighborhood. Mexico has a better road infrastructure than Louisiana for fricks sake.
But fortunately for Louisiana, there's always Mississippi. At least they got that going for themselves

It can be challenging but isn't it boring as hell that u live in a state where everybody roots for the same team? Now THAT would suck to me.

You would have been better off making a Roy Moore joke.

The foothills of the Appilchians and sugar sand beaches that are overrun with lsu flags in the summer. Gotta love it. As a resident of the Birmingham metro area, I can be in the smokies, gulf shores/the emeralds coast of Florida, Atlanta, New Orleans, and Nashville all under a 5.5 hour drive. Maybe not the epicenter of cultural greatness but I can be anywhere and do just about anything in my backyard.

It's amazing that if any other fan base started an exact thread like this about Louisiana, it'd probably get anchored or they'd get banned.

I'm just glad we don't live next to "Lousyana". We have the good folks of Mississippi between us.
