I'm not sure who guys are wanting him to recruit at this point in the 2018 class

To my knowledge we haven't done well when trying to convert players to a new position. If we need lineman I'd rather Luke or the OL recruiter find a player who actually has OL experience in high school.

Luke has done a really good job hanging on to the o-line. To the point it will be the deepest group on the team next year.

The are 5 returning starters. Little, Patterson, Rawlings, Sims and Givens.

Newman, Tuitt, Johnson, Mathews are returning lettermen and Gray and Brown redshirted and are both capable of playing guard or tackle.

Howard is still playing blocking TE going into his JR season, he's been unable to gain the last 30-35 lbs that would make him an SEC ready o-lineman. He will probably go on to have stellar NFL career, because WOAM. He's holding a scholarship as a lineman. If he can gain the weight he would be a starting tackle or center next season. He needs some creatine in his protein mix.

We lose 2 seniors and Defoor is the only transfer, so we are only down 3 o-linemen. Looks as though we will pick up 2 in recruiting this year.

So considering the scholarship limitations the o-line is in pretty good shape for getting through next year. Luke will need to find a couple of quality walk-ons and a 4 or 5 star, no miss LT the next season.

If I'm not mistaken, there are only 6 WR on scholarship presently: AJ Brown, Terrence Metcalfe, Lodge, Weber, White and Sanders.

It appears they may get 2 more WR that can play next season to add some talent and depth.

They should be solid at TE with Knox, Cooley, Mathis and Angel. They may put Pellerin back at QB to protect a redshirt for Corral, but with limited scholarships i would play Corral and let Pellerin work out with the receivers now that we are thinner at that position.

Running Back is a little iffy, but if Wells and Phillips can add some quickness to the backfield then Swinney and Pennamon should be able to handle to bulk of the carries.

I like Phillips, he reminds me of Walter Payton, he could be a huge surprise

The defense is still a huge question mark, Crime dawg gets one more year to teach players how to tackle and play LB.

Given the 5 year anal probe by the NCAA and their additional bowl ban and scholarships, it could be worse.

So, I think Luke has done an excellent job so far. Let's see what he does when he gets out of this hole.
