Either Tucker or Pruitt will be a return to traditional Tennessee style

No gimmicks, no life championships, no 3rd down let's go, no leadership reps, no grey jerseys, no zone read, no bullshite. Just hardnosed SEC football.
I remember the days when opponents used to look across the field at our defensive line during pregame warm ups and shite their pants. It's been a long time since we've seen fear in opponents eyes.
We've had some good offenses over the last 9 years, but I don't think we've had a top 25 defense since Chief. We're not going to have a championship level team until we get the defense back.
These boys are soft, and I'm tired of watching marshmallow fluff finesse style gimmick football.
I think that alone puts my mind at ease.

I want Jeremy Pruitt coaching up a defense that brings the dick heat, no more smokey grey anything, no more piped in figgotry on third down, and no more checkerboard rat tails on our sacred helmets.
Is that too much to ask damnit?

No more checkerboard rat tails
No more orange stripe on the pants
Bring me this product of inbreeding and let’s ride

I'm much less concerned about the uniform items listed and much more concerned about the attitude and performance. Nike gonna nike, IMO. Fancy uniforms and unique details are Nike's job. Those details have little bearing on the attitude and on-field performance of our players. Our guys have been weak sauce as of late, both mentally and physically. Guys are getting hurt all over the place and are just quitting on the team, both literally (Jalen Hurd, et al) and figuratively (see last half of this season). Fixing these issues is priority 1.
Lyle had "toughness" as part of his "Dat way" gimmick, but apparently the team never made it past "da".

if we could have pruitt/tee/gillespe on staff we would have top 5 classes every single yr

I have literally never given this a second thought.
Agree with everything else in this thread though.

I laughed.
For your sake, I hope the helmet stripe travesty is VOL twitter's next victim.

This is true. The Pruitt/Tee thing seems weird to me though. I'm sure they've met at some point in the past, but I don't picture Tee as Pruitt's first choice for OC just b/c there is very little chance that they would have been able to get to know each other, unless a DB coach and WR coach from different schools do that? Seems somewhat forced to have Tee on the staff as OC for some reason.

Who knows how true the Tee stuff is but I think part of the reason it's so forced is bc many Vols are just so sick of this shite that has gone on for so long they are seeking comfort in a name from the past that they have faith in
No better time to get a name from than 1998 if that's what a fan is looking for

He would probably snag Kevin Sherrer as DC. Not sure where Y'all are at with folks, but everyone at UGA has loved Sherrer.

hearing Pruitt might be interested in bringing on Hugh Freeze as OC. I'm not sure that's possible given the sanctions Ole Miss was just hit with, but an interesting scenario nonetheless.

Freeze is cleared to be an assistant by the NCAA, but I think Price is full of shite about this nugget

I mean that is way out of left field! Did you see that about the mystery candidate? Any guesses on who that could be?
