mirror teams. both have young qb's that are similar. hurts is a better runner and Bryant is a better passer.
both have great defense.
the difference - Alabama's injuries. 1 or 2 of the right LB's come back in time, it could change.
really close to pick, but auburn did what no one else could - really slow the running game, contain hurts from running and keep ridley covered when hurts scrambled. Clemson can probably do the same.

Gumps won’t win. We exposed them just like we did last year. Daddy Dabo sees the blueprint laid forth by Orgeron yet again.

Alabama effortlessly ran for more than 200 yards against Auburn and abandoned it Midway through the third quarter for some reason. I bet they don't make that mistake again.

I think it will be best match up in terms of comparing staffs game plans and adjustments with so much more time to prepare.
Loads of talent on both sides, opportunistic Ds, and explosive players who can get big chunk plays. I'm thinking a third straight classic finish (one possession game) or a blow out going either way.
Would love to see a dedicated ball control, run oriented power game from UA and a D that can cover Renfrow/contain Bryant and get Clemson off the field on 3rd down. Daboll has not impressed me with his play calling or in game adjustments. We'll see how it goes.
CNS is the best in the business with max time to prep and dissect a team. It's the short turnaround of the CFP scenario that he has struggled adapting to. That said, if Bama beats Clemson, I'd much rather play UGA than OU simply because the OU offense would take a lot more prep than would be available. Plus, I'm certain they already have a working game plan based on anticipation of playing them in the SEC Cg.

I'm not sure how much difference this will make but this will be the first time they play in the semifinals which means both teams have the full time between the season and bowls to prepare for each other. The previous two times they each only had the week or so after their semifinal game.

IF Dabo wins this game, he all but assures that he'll be the next head coach at Alabama when Saban retires in a couple of years.
