I dislike Bama as much or more than anyone but if were being honest Bama is one of the 4 best teams this year.

Auburn
Georgia
Clemson
Miami
Oklahoma
Wisconsin
Ohio State
Penn State
TCU
USC

Which 4 do you really think would beat Bama. Other than Auburn, Clemson, maybe UGA, OSU or Oklahoma could be argued as being better but realistically I doubt the last 3 could take them down.

Now if you switch the conversation to the 4 "most deserving" teams then I could give you at least 4 teams - Auburn/UGA, Oklahoma (if they beat TCU again), Clemson/Miami and maybe Wisconsin/OSU. But a few of those are debatable. So as much as I hate to admit it they will likely get another mulligan. The biggest fly in their ointment is if TV ratings are taken into consideration, which I firmly disagree with that being any type of a factor but it very well may come into account.

According to Gary, UGA is a bum who might as well not even show up, but Bama had one bad night.

I think we'll show up anyway Gary.

Notwithstanding my thoughts of Bama, this is what the Playoff committee is and should be. 'Best' in football is nothing but subjective conjecture. Deserving can at least somewhat be quantified.

You don't think a rematch of the most watched college football game of the 2017 season would get even more eyeballs than the first go round?
