The entire situation was a Metroplex vs Houston pissing contest.
As once the Southwest Classic or whatever you call your game is pulled out of Jerry's World Jerry Jones will be trying to get an annual UT/Aggy game in Arlington.
He does not want Houston to have the first game

I am just amused at how the shorthorns have spent the past decades denying that A&M is a rivalry and their student body votes 10:1 to try and resume it. They said they could replace us with other in-state schools, and they should stick to it.
