BOT cannot "fire" or "keep" an A.D. They don't have that authority. They can offer a vote of confidence and that's it. They can fire a university president or chancellor, but they have no authority to dismiss Long.

This is true, however I hope folks don't think for one minute that discussions weren't had concerning all of the above. If I were a betting man, this got heated.

Reasons...
1. The expansion progress, costs and analysis are not going as was planned or projected.
2. The insurance thing has some validity to it as well, how much? don't know..
3. The product on the football field is atrocious.
4. Fan discontent, publicly being embarrassed by the media accounts in the past few weeks.
5. Don't forget that Pryor was against, or had strong reservations concerning the expansion prior to being approved, he now has some ammunition.

so, yes... they cant fire Long or CBB, but they can make dang sure it happens...
