Because with all of that killer talent he has returning to state next year, he knows he will still be a mediocre team. Its fricking miss st dude, it shouldn't be too tough to figure out. Some people want to be the best at their craft and shoot higher than being a coach at miss st, which limits the amount of success you can have due to its disadvantages as a program in the sec. It's in the bottom 3rd of programs in the sec and that aint changing. Some people want to live somewhere other than starkville miss an coach at a bigtime program. Some coaches want to actually win a title and leave a legacy behind. Some coaches want to strive to be the best they can be. None of these will happen for mullen at state, ever. That's why he would leave state for a better program. Not saying he will, but if he plans on ever winning even an sec title, he should leave state, because we all know state will never win a title with the programs that it has to face every year. They're outclassed as a program man, period. Sure, they might win a game here and there when the other program overlooks them, but let's be real, they aren't going to go toe to toe with bama, lsu, auburn, texas am or even ole miss when they're cheating, lol, consistently. Just isn't gonna happen.

Everything here may be somewhat valid. But the options this year are for the other SEC teams. I’m sorry to inform you but there’s only one big time program here. Bama. Georgia has a chance to get there now. All the rest are the same. It’s to the point that MSU actually has as much chance as anyone not named Bama. Y’all lost to Troy and we destroyed you. You’re now on the same level as us. And it’s not getting better for you. You’re recruiting just as many 3 stars now as us. So there’s nothing another SEC team has that State doesn’t unless it’s Bama.
