There’s no way to predict how that decision will be made yet. But as long as people’s opinions rule out most logical reasoning, there will continue to be unfairness throughout.
Refer to:
2011 bama and 2016 Ohio State-
Both lost their division, didn’t play conference championship, got in anyway.
2003 Oklahoma-
Lost to Kansas state in conference championship and still made the natty over the “people’s champ” AP poll winner USC
Love that we got rid of a “corrupt” formula that considered statistical analysis plus combined all the polls to give a final answer on rankings only to switch to a panel of 12 people to decide the fate of teams.
Seriously? I can understand former coaches and players having a say, even though biased, but they put condaleeza rice on this committee... I just need an explanation as to how someone who never played and probably hasn’t watched more football than any poster on this site is given the power to help determine who’s deserving to be in the top 4.
That being said, you can’t rule out a one loss ND going in over a one loss UGA. Even though the head to head AT HOME, the extra game in the conference championship, and just outright knowing whose been the better team should make the decision pretty fricking obvious.
