I wouldn't put this in a strictly liberal v. conservative world... it's two ends of a shite sandwich spectrum. I've been a moderate my whole life and will likely continue to be so. Calls em like I sees em.

But yeah... this idea that somehow UGA is behind the eight ball to go out and find a new minority hire or we're somehow less as an institution is ridiculous... if we go 5-10 years and don't make a minority hire of any kind... sure... it's fair to point it out... but losing someone who (while potentially not a fan favorite) was at least imminently qualified for her job and then putting us on some kind of time clock to go out and find another fricking unicorn is ridiculous. Besides, she wasn't hired into that role... she *grew* into it... I would imagine we'd approach it that way with anyone. My biggest fear though, is this will be a couple of "OTJ" years at UVA, and whenever we part ways with Ears, we go back to the well to try and bring her back. I'm not sure that's in the best interests of anyone.
