But with top 10 recruiting classes the past three years his best is 8-5. Is that seriously not a red flag for you?

I've stated in other threads that I don't think he's the perfect coach. What I argue with is people saying it's insane to think he could do a good job at Arkansas.

Literally every other candidate has things you could consider red flags as well. Unless you're telling me we are about to steal Saban, I'm not crossing anyone off of the list for not having a flawless resume.

The red flags with Gus are relatively mild, while his achievements are as good as, of not better, than anyone else being mentioned.

And yes he has had talent to work with, but I also take into account where that program was when he took over. I don't buy the line that Auburn is a super easy place to win at. It's definitely well behind Bama and LSU as far as ease of winning. Ahead of Arkansas, yes, but not to the extent some are making it out to be.

Auburn is a lot closer to LSU than us

We just view it differently, but failing to win more than 8 over that span with top tier talent is too much of a stain for me. I also worry about his ability to develop a QB, which is a luxury we've had the past 9 years.

Also, I don't think the situation he took over is as bad as it's made out to be. They were undisciplined due to Chrizik and tried to switch to a pro-style offense without the right personnel. If they had stuck with a similar spread run scheme they wouldn't have been nearly as bad.
