In that case the possession occurred during the play. Doesn't matter if they had to use replay to determine who had the ball.

A fumble through the end zone "awards" the defense the ball after the play has ended. ( Which I don't agree with but it is the rule) if they recovered (earned on field during the play) during the play then penalty enforced from original LOS.
