We've got to come up with some kind of 'gimmick' or innovation offensively to compete. As bad as I wanted to believe CBB could get us to the point where we could just line up and play 'real American football', we just can't recruit enough hosses to do that. Never will be able to.

We have in the past, Bert just hasn't been able too.
If the recruiting strategy falls in line with Bert's week recruitment and evaluation on the lines, then the optimal solution now is to run a Texas based spread that gets the ball to the perimeter in space quickly hoping you can out score you opponent in games.
The read/option is the exact opposite of what we need as you need a good o line not just a perfect fit dual threat QB...
