it's an indictment on the coaching staff.

If we have to have a once in a lifetime QB to move this offense correctly its going to be a short regime. Your system should make avg QBs look good, good look great and great look like Heisman winners.

I'm not even saying that -- Franks isn't even mediocre, though. On a scale of 1 to 10 he's maybe a 3.

We need a guy who can manage the game -- Del Rio is a 5, maybe a 6 on a good day, 7 on a great day (Kentucky last year) but he can get the offense where it needs to be when it needs to be. His vision is better.

For Corral it's:

If we can do this with a guy who's a 3, what can we do with a guy who's an 8?

Putting up 300 yards of offense with a mediocre quarterback is impressive, especially against a defense like A&M who otherwise gave Alabama their toughest game. If we can get Franks to give us these games, a great quarterback makes us virtually unbeatable with this defense.

They're almost all freshmen or sophomores, and they looked way better without Washington.

Good quarterback gives us a chance, great quarterback puts us back on the map. Mediocre quarterback without his playmakers is just a disaster. Cleveland wasn't all there, Toney's out, Scarlett's out, Callaway is out and we still got 400 yards of offense outside of sacks.

That's pretty fricking oustanding, considering.
