I tend to agree but it's hard to know without the details of the case. For instance if it was her employer, Crye-Leike, that handled the interface with the prospective shady buyer and they specifically sent Carter to meet with that buyer I can see where negligence might be in play if there were obvious clues that the buyer was not legit.

But from the brief description in the AP article, it doesn't sound like that was the case.
