It's because of recruiting foot print and what is available.

We do not grow giant Scandinavians who will be future Nfl players like in Wisconsin.

What we do grow is a bunch of skill players for our pop. We do produce a few O line and D line guys. We struggle to produce LB's. If LR would stop sucking dick and get some kids in football that might change.

Our recruiting foot print is for a spread team that throws it all over the yard. We have a ton of recent qb history so we will get qb's. We will have a defense and an offense that can be above average on the lines with the right evaluation skills (This is where Bert has failed imo).

We should on average be in the upper half at skill positions in the sec in most years. Our recruiting footprint says so. Just look at next year's in state class. 2 of the best WR's in the country. The best tight end. A neighboring state has the other top TE. We usually produce a good back at least every other year.

You have to go into Texas and LA to get the rest. Possibly find a diamond in the rough from tenn, ala, GA, FL, MS. To finish out your classes.

Bert does not fit any of this at all. I used to think none of that really mattered. I've changed my mind.

Why play football when you can play basketball and avoid the permanent brain damage?

And this is part of our problem. Bert will lead everyone to believe that he recruits 25 players each year that are "diamonds in the rough". They just don't pan out usually.
