The notion that we have a better guy that we are refusing opportunities to is nothing but speculation. Could he be better? Maybe. At this point, though, his stats are basically on par with Jalen's passing numbers this year with a lot less mobility and potential for rushing game.

We know how Jalen will react in a big moment. We know he's not going to lose his cool. Is he perfect? No. But he's not going to make a mistake to cost you the game. We don't know how Tua will handle significant game reps. It would be reckless to move from the known to the unknown for the heck of it.

I know people hate this answer, but I'm going to trust that the coaches think Jalen is the best guy at this point. Will he be in November? Or next year? Maybe not. But right now he is. You don't just make a QB switch in a competitive game for the sake of getting reps. You don't switch QBs the way you do RBs or WRs or even OL or kickers.
