I think it is funny that Alabama fans don't understand this. You have an elephant as a mascot but your nickname is the Crimson Tide. Similarly, we are the Rebels but our mascot may be a bear or a shark or an old Civil War Colonel. Who really cares? It's for kids.

By the way:
Tennessee Volunteers - Blue Tick Hound
Alabama Crimson Tide - Elephant
Texas A&M Aggies - Collie
Auburn Tigers - Golden Eagle (Yes they have Aubie too)

This is not new.

Whatever. I'm talking about how after y'all debuted the Black Bear, everyone around here called you the Rebel Black Bears.

I don't care why you're taking everything so seriously, to be honest.

It's actually very new, those other mascots have been around for a long long time. Landshark is a gimmick from 10 years ago. It's ridiculous a program as old as ole miss would have such an identity crisis. Just be the rebels. It's ok

If you're gonna have a dog as an on-field mascot, at least choose a mean and intimidating dog not Lassie.
