You go back and watch this season and I can even poll the rant and they will say the same thing.

I dont' care what a rant poll says, I watched with my own eyes and could see his grasp of the offense later in the year as he matured.

Fromm beat Notre Dame a top 15 team, Miss st. and shut out Tenn at their house.

Jake Fromm hasn't shut out anybody. Our defense is responsible for all 3 of those victories you mentioned. I mean really man...against MSU and UT we combined to give up 3 points and you're pretending Fromm just carried us to victory. And against ND Fromm threw for 55% with 1 TD and 1 INT and posted his lowest QBR of the season.

Eason had two games where we won by double digits.

At this point I think you are intentionally just ignoring the role defense plays in this comparison. Cory Phillips could have been our QB all season and we'd still be absolutely no worse than 4-1. Eason had to basically get in a shootout every game the first half of his freshman season.

Also, Auburn was 8-5 last year, not really burning shite down.

they were a top 10 team before their QB and RB got gimpy

but fromm is 5-0!!!!!

i was in a spirited discussion with some tennessee fans in line to get into neyland on saturday. they were obviously delusional ("we are better than notre dame"), but said that fromm was fricked because he hadn't played in this type of environment before, true freshman, etc...

i responded that it was a fair point but completely meaningless since he wouldnt even need to throw a pass to beat them. and i was right.

fromm has been just fine. love that he's on our team and he has played well. but he hasn't had to do jack shite to win any of these games. that's a great thing btw because it means we are fricking good. whoever plays QB the next 2 weeks wont have to do a damn thing to win. I could play QB starting now and we'd be 7-0 heading to jacksonville.

at some point, dunno when, maybe florida, maybe auburn, maybe tech, maybe not until bama; our QB is gonna have to do SOMETHING. i think eason is more capable of being able to do something.
