Michigan does not recruit similar players to Mizzou

Yeah, look at the blue blood reload. Shocking.

I think we are all seeing, promoting an assistant to head coach in the SEC is not a good idea. Seen the same with Anderson. Competition on and off the field is much higher and you have to meet a certain talent level with both recruits and coaches. I think there is plenty of talent on the roster. I think Mizzou did not reach that talent level with hiring Odom and in turn hiring his assistants. I think with the right coach and staff, it could easily be turned around. This team and school has really lost it's identity. D-line zou etc. is gone. It left with coach Kul. The players looked outmatched. Glaringly against Auburn. I don't think it's a matter of talent or strength. I hink it's a matter of confidence and leadership.

So you admit that the returning 20 of 22 on the two-deep was continuing on with the same level of talent with a lot more experience. We obviously didn't lose studs with mizzou's recruiting levels. Yet all that extra experience resulted in the largest single season drop in production that I can find.
I have looked through the last 10+ seasons of stats and I cannot find an FBS offense or defense whose national ranking fell so far in one season. I'd be willing to guess it might be the largest in CFB history.
But hey, we don't recruit bluechips so it is OK.

Brothers was a stud, and amongst the top 5 LBs in th country. Brady was also a big loss.
So was Kul having Pitts steal the playbook and sending it out to the rest of the SEC.

Not even sure what you are trying to say here.

Barry was handed a top10 defense, who was left on the field to die each week by the offense, and still finished top10(#6)
Majority of those players came back, or had depth to replace, and they regressed in 2016, and took an even bigger step back in 17.
This year he had an offense with almost everyone back, especially in skilled positions, and it's worse than last year.
Barry is a terrible Head coach, matter of fact, a really bad leader.

Lol, quit revising history at least.
He was "handed" a top 50 defense. He coordinated at top 10 defense.
They are plenty of talking points if you want to bash him. No reason to make them up.

I'm confused.
Are you defending Barry Odom nuking the defense in 2016?

They ran Garys Defensive Scheme in 2015
Barry was handed the keys to Dline U. And he's turned i into Poo POO U
That 2014 Defense was #24 in Country in Points given up. Hardly a average D unit

I'm not defending anything. I'm simply stating facts.

Ok true or false Barry Odom was the DC of a top 10 defense, the following season he completely tore down that defense for a new system which is averaging about 30 ppg against?

That's true of course, he's also went back to the same system we used to run about half way through last season.
I don't think he forgot how to coach a defense. Something is systemically wrong here. I'm not sure what it is.
FBS teams are completing 72% of their passes agains us. You almost have to try to be that bad.
Side note...looking up some of these numbers you should see how good UTSA has been.

continuing on with the same level of talent
Here is where we disagree. The program's success under Pinkel was predicated on a fundamentally sound two deep of 3rd and 4th year players on both sides of the ball.
Out of Pinkel's last 3 classes(74 total players signed), 31 left the program before exhausting their eligibility. 11 if those were top end players in the class. Those guys not being on the roster results in guys being on the two deep ahead of schedule.
Not even Michigan would succeed losing 41% of its players from a 3 year recruiting span.

Sounds like Barry should have left the defense alone until he got the players he needed to change to what his vision is.
Not having the guys at the second level to play Monte Kiffin's 4-3 Under Tampa 2 scheme is why they changed the front in the first place. They still don't have the guys to play it which is why they tried to continue installing 4-2-5 Over Read 2. None of it worked but I get why they tried.
