who is going to tune in to watch Alabama slaughter Vanderbilt.

I might watch the beginning to see how long vandy can hang in, but once Alabama gets a 2 score lead i'm shutting it off. I dont' believe any one but an Alabama fan would care to watch this crap.

Georgia vs moo state has much more interest for sec fans, even if not nationally.

only Alabama games I care about are if my team is playing them or if they are playing a team with a realistic chance of winning.

Real nice shitpost you got here, Mr. O’Malley. Be a real shame if someone downvoted it.

Truth, though, OP's not wrong. We know Bama will do Bama things. I'd rather watch a game, something will less predictability than a Hallmark movie.

I'm on that Dawg on Dawg action this weekend (after we beat 'Cuse).

Only because LSU did everything short of signing consent forms before getting fricked

Well CBS will actually get to show Vandy in a decent match up as far as relevance goes. Not sure you're going to find a better opportunity to put them on CBS this season.

CBS games are almost always close games.

If this ain't a blowout, I'm calling shenanigans

I think your hatred of Bama is blinding you to the fact that, outside of the SEC, this would actually be a more dramatic draw than UGA vs MSU. Those two are regional football draws at this point. The game should be very much worth watching, but there are more nationally-interesting storylines to the Bama/Vandy one. The behemoth of CFB traveling to a small private school that has been surprisingly successful so far this season, with a top-ranked defense and a win over a ranked OOC. People with no particular interest in the SEC will find that more compelling than a match-up between two moderately successful (this season) teams with little recent national impact in the season's 4th week. Now, if both teams continue on their current trajectories, the UGA/MSU game would certainly be shoo-in over a Vandy-Bama game in November, but this isn't November.

You think CBS is going to go 1/3 of the season without showing the top-ranked, highest ratings-generating team in America even once?

If Bama vs Vandy is a close game then Ratings will be great . It may not be a blow out .

Further, Alabama is only allowed, what, 5 showings a year on CBS, right?

And this game takes away one.

Agree, MSU/UGA is a much bigger/better game.

Guess its kind of like The Harlem Globetrotters vs The Washington Generals. Nobody watching it for the Generals.

As a watching fan, I'm glad we are on the 6pm broadcast. I don't really like the 230 time slot. Everyone talks about it being the prime one but ESPN is pretty damn up there.

As an attending fan, screw a 230 time slot. I go into the stands an hour early and my seats don't get shade until 3pm ish. Give me 6pm all day(night) long.
