think Auburn's hyper-impatient fan base will be as much of a cause to Auburn dropping some close games as coaching and talent on the field. A place that can fire a HC only 2 years after winning the National Title is mental.

I would typically agree, but 2012 was historically bad for Auburn. I don't think one player on that team respected Chizik and they all seemed to refuse to play hard especially the last 4-5 games of that season. They had no choice but to fire him. He wins only 6 games that season he would have been retained. 2 wins with that team and the admin had no choice but to fire him.

I think the Administration is weak for not supporting him and the fan base was weak for the same reason. The only thing Chizik was probably guilty of was not cleaning house when his players stopped playing for him. He could have dismissed those bad apples and addressed the fan base to tell them that certain players think they are bigger than the program and can find another team to play for....They wouldn't have liked it, but if a National Champion Coach can't have that kind of clout at Auburn after a year or 2 then that whole program has much deeper issues...Sounds like way too many cooks in the kictchen
