Programs go up and down. It's cyclical. Even Bama will have a downturn at some point.
The SEC just does not have any established great coaches right now outside of Saban. None even in the next tier really.
Just in the last few years the SEC has lost Spurrier, Richt, Pinkel and Miles. These were established, name brand coaches that one a lot of ballgames at their schools. None of them were replaced with established coaches.
