State has a couple of freaks playing OLB....Green and Sweat....they really open the middle for Simmons. It is very difficult to get the edge against State because of their outside backers. Most haven't heard those names, but they will

Have you noticed your defense better or worse when in the nickel?

It really depends. State's safety core is really good with Abrams (Georgia fans should remember him), Bryant, and McLaurin. They all tackle well in space and support the run well.

The biggest concern with this team coming into the year was corner, but they have played very well thus far.

State played a lot more nickel against Louisiana Tech (spread team) and went to it on passing downs against LSU. Linebacker play and safety play are extremely underrated with this defense, and the defensive line is a collection of beasts. It's gonna be tough for Georgia to run the ball, but they can have some success through the air if they can keep the pocket clean and your freshman QB can handle his progressions. State is going to take some things away on defense.

Not much of a difference. Teams are only 9/41(22%) on 3rd down conversions against us, so you might lean better in the nickel. Team are 0/8 in the 3rd quarter after halftime adjustments.

3rd and Grantham is looking pretty good so far.
