Using my secret matrix, I've managed to retroactively rank every one of our historical non-conference opponents in the top 25. So this post isn't entirely accurate.

If you went retro enough, Vandy is a badass team that kicked all our asses for a while. Y'all introduced foosball to the SEC precursor conferences.

If you go back to the old Southern Conference which included (extras bolded - note some were founding SEC members too): Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi State, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Washington & Lee then y'all were dominant as hell and had an enormous influence on southern football.

A lot of people don't realize that prior to Shield-Watkins Field (what would become Neyland) being formed by students (they seriously moved a lot of Earth) that Vandy had the largest stadium in the Southeast by far.
