That jog east kept the worst winds away. Only 100 mph plus gusts. Lots of debris, but everything else is good.

More detailed update:
My house was fine.. it lost the gutters on one side and it'll have to have a couple of boards replaced on the north side. It never lost power, mainly due to the neighborhood having underground power lines after Hurricane Charley. There's crap everywhere and water almost reached my sandbags. (rain backs up due to drainage issues when there's more than a couple of inches an hour.) The storm surge prevented a lot of water from properly draining, but it was fine. I haven't been by to see the construction site for my new house yet, but it was just a slab and blocks at this point.
About half of my county is without power, the ones around it range from 67% to 91% without power. (Charlotte county was the one that took the direct hit from Charley back in 2004).
Cleanup has started and we're all going around to make sure the old folks are doing fine.

Funny enough, the generator I have for my house (which I loaned to a friend that needed it) I purchased right before the big Fayetteville ice storm in 2009.
Dr. Fye and the other professors in geosciences were talking about how conditions were setting up for it to be pretty terrible.. so I bought a generator for the upcoming power outages lol.

2/3rds of Florida is without power.
