Steve Earl was recently quoted before a show here in Athens...
"Today's mainstream country singers are just doing hip hop for people who are afraid of black people.”

Sums it up.

That's pretty good and probably true. I think the marketing changed completely from southern, hardworking men who just want to drink and talk about women and drinking, to just marketing to women instead.

It does... Only Sam Hunt is good at it. The rest of them

I actually like a few Aldean songs...but this one sucks. It sounds like he is doing a Luke Bryan impression...a bad one...and why anyone would want to sound like that douche is beyond me.

The only saving grace of country music are those bringing back some of the outlaw sounds: Chris Stapleton, Jamey Johnson, Travis Meadows, Sturgil Simpson and a few others.

Brian Kelly of Florida/Georgia Line lives near me and from all accounts is a pretty cool guy...but that doesn't make his music sound any better than a country-fried Nickelback

Anything that the Marxist Steve Earl says is ignorant, more so anyone who thinks he is smart and worth quoting on any subject.
