Let's be clear, if Sumlin was half the coach of an arse pimple, Chavis would be just fine.

On a bright October morning ten years ago, I saw John Chavis...working for a national championship winning HC...make John Parker Wilson and a twenty something year old kid named Major Applewhite look like Dan Fouts and Don Coryell.

And that was with Bama having lost Glen Coffee, A-A center Antoine Caldwell, and another starting OL just that morning due to the textbook suspensions. BJ Stabler, who started in place of one of those guys on the OL, was practically a cripple himself by then. Yet the Chief managed to put absolutely zero pressure on Wilson all day. Third and Chavis was on display in all its glory.

Wilson: 32/46-363-3-0.
DJ Hall: 13 for 185, 2 TDs and a 2PT conversion

And just to be clear, Alabama had exactly zero players taken in the 2008 NFL draft.

Speaking of arse pimples...there's got to be a Phil Fulmer joke there somewhere.

What does "Sex and the City" have to do with Chavis?

Chavis fielded consistently very good defenses at LSU. That's a fact. His worst year was 2013 and it was I think the 21st ranked scoring defense.

He's very solid when he has the right players and an offense that knows how to manage a game.

Again, you are missing the point. All Chavis has to do is field a "decent" defense if our offense wasn't crippled by a certifiable dumb shite as the HC. Chavis has always had a good defense. His problem at LSU was that their offense sucked.

Anyone that thinks our problems are Chavis isn't paying attention to what is happening at A&M.
