Chavis' problem isn't his scheme or his talent at A&M.

His problem is that fricking dumbass of a head coach that has no idea how to manage a game clock or call plays with a big lead. His other problem is atrocious offensive play calling, such as early in the 1st Q three passes and a FG inside the 5.

Let's be clear, if Sumlin was half the coach of an arse pimple, Chavis would be just fine.

Even Buddy Ryan couldn't field a decent defense if he worked with that dickhead Sumlin.

On a bright October morning ten years ago, I saw John Chavis...working for a national championship winning HC...make John Parker Wilson and a twenty something year old kid named Major Applewhite look like Dan Fouts and Don Coryell.

And that was with Bama having lost Glen Coffee, A-A center Antoine Caldwell, and another starting OL just that morning due to the textbook suspensions. BJ Stabler, who started in place of one of those guys on the OL, was practically a cripple himself by then. Yet the Chief managed to put absolutely zero pressure on Wilson all day. Third and Chavis was on display in all its glory.

Wilson: 32/46-363-3-0.
DJ Hall: 13 for 185, 2 TDs and a 2PT conversion

And just to be clear, Alabama had exactly zero players taken in the 2008 NFL draft.

Speaking of arse pimples...there's got to be a Phil Fulmer joke there somewhere.

I agree and disagree with this.

I agree that Sumlin is a dumbass.

I disagree that Chavis wasn't part of the problem. I don't care how dumb the offensive play calling is, the defense got GUTTED in the second half. 300+ yards? And there were at least 3 balls that should have been easy picks. Rosen threw shite up in the air like he didn't give a frick where it landed. Into triple coverage, off his back foot, etc., etc., etc. It is laughable that the media put him on a pedestal after that game, he made a lot of fundamentally terrible throws. To not be able to stop that is a combination of a lack in coaching, talent, and football IQ on A&M's defense.
