I was saying the same thing last year about Hurts
Yes I did, didn't I. I said early on that Hurts couldn't read defenses, couldn't hit the intermediate and long passes, and coldn't check down to secondary receivers and was taking off too quick. I said early on that it was going to hurt us when we played good defenses and that they were going to pressure Hurts and make him beat us with his arm. All correct and it easy to see coming.
We heard all off season how much he'd improved. First game didn't look like it. But yeah, he'll get some easy passing yards vs Fresno State and Colorado State and people like you will be proclaiming how great he is now. Then later, come the for real defenses, probably more of the same.
In the off season I didn't bash the kid, hearing how much he'd improved. I still hope it's so, but if not, I would like to see Tagovailoa and I think it's a given that Saban won't make the same mistake twice and not give the kid a decent chance if Hurts can't get it done. Otherwise, you'll probably see Tagovailoa transfer at the end of the year. Oh yeah, and I called the Barnett transfer too, though I didn't think it would be during the season. Tagovailoa is apparently better.

quote:We'll see him this coming Saturday. Saban's gonna give him plenty of reps in the 2nd half if we build a good lead. I'm guessing a possible devastating injury is in the front of the entire coaching staff's mind after all that happened in the first game...they'll get him some experience.
I would like to see Tagovailoa
