That would be a a strong hire. I expect Jimbo to hire someone solid on that side of the ball for sure.
I watched a lot of FSU football over the Jimbo era, my wife is an FSU fan, and I live in Nole country in the FL panhandle.

One thing I expect to be immediately better is the defense, regardless of who Jimbo gets. IMHO, Sumlin was never really COMMITTED to running the football. To me, teams that aren't run first or play a lot of heavier formations can potentially play softer D, just because they don't go up against a more physical O in practice everyday. Jimbo likes to run the ball somewhat traditonally, I think this will get you guys back to being stronger on D in a roundabout kinda way.
Edit- You guys should hire Todd Orlando for the double butt hurt whammy Jimbo/Orlando combo

I hope so. I want him to land on his feet and it may lessen the blow we have to pay him.

I think his 3 year contract expired at the end of this season, so there shouldn't be any additional money owed to him or Mazzone (who had a 2 year contract)

Looking at Grinch's defense this year, each time Washington State lost, they allowed 37 or more points. In those games, the offense completely failed them, committing 15 of their 29 season turnovers and only scoring 3, 37, and 14 points respectively.
