What assumptions will be made during the first games?

My favorite part of the new season is reading the overreactions and trolls.

I bet you anything that if Arkansas doesn't score a touchdown on their first drive tonight they will get reamed on here.

"Both teams look bad"
"Easily the worst game I've ever watched"
"Ranking them dead last"
"They couldn't be any worse"
"Is this SEC football?"
"Seriously about to go watch Will & Grace"
"Fantastic display of athleticism"
"Anyone can run on that defense"
"This is painful"

I got carried away, but you get the point.

And then it will happen again and again, for every team that plays. Football is back, baby!

Easily all of those. that's one of the setbacks of playing first. Everybody will just spout stupid shite.

ETA: Tiger Rant does this to themselves every game, though.

After your team's first drive of the game:

1) We look awesome, will contend for the SEC title

or

2) We won't win 5 games if we keep playing like this

There's typically no in between.

If Texas A&M beats UCLA...."The Aggies always start out of the gate fast. Wait until November."

If the A&M loses to UCLA...." A&M is really bad this year. Just wait until November for the total collapse."

A.K.A. Another season is here!

I'll be at Harrah's in Cherokee tonight but it'll be hard not to get on here for at least the first quarter.

So so so true- and I've done it. I did it with y'all one season. I think it was the first Conner Shaw experience - the opening Thursday night. I thought he was horrid and my mom would make a better qb. Then he turned out to be one of my fave non hogs.

Auburn cheats.

Aggie is gay.

Bama's tradition of do-it-yourself orthodontics lives on.

LSU fans are drunk.

My reaction to Arky will be the same as the previous few years:

A sense of bewilderment that Bert has somehow gotten fatter
