For real?
I was born in Knoxville and my parents had UT season tickets; but mom was from Lexington and as soon as dad had the opportunity to transfer with his job he took it when I was still a baby. So I guess I was destined to be a Wildcats fan.
I grew up going to UK football games with my dad (I would alternate games with my brother) and basketball when we could get tickets. I remember the 10-1 season in 1977 (I'm a child of the 60's.) Later I got my BA from UK (and briefly attended EKU - a perennial I-AA/FCS national power at least in those days. There was a time when some fans Eastern would've beat Kentucky if they played.)
You really can't be a UK football fan, especially one who likes it better than basketball, and let things like crappy seasons and naysayers get to you. But I admit support has waned at times, and I gave up my season tickets around 2009 so maybe I am a little bandwagon ??
