Richt, 2007: Overtime loss, Leigh Tiffin connects on a field goal in OT but Stafford hits a 25 yd pass to Mikey Henderson on the first play for the 26-23 win. Nick Saban's first season in Tuscaloosa. Georgia had Stafford, Moreno, and would go on to destroy Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl.

Meyer, 2008: SEC Championship Game. Nick Saban's second season at Alabama. Tough game, but in the end Tebow, Demps, and Riley Cooper were just too much for the young Tide team. Alabama led 20-17 in the 4th but eventually fell 31-20, in a game that was closer than the score indicates. Florida later won the BCS Title over Oklahoma, 24-14.

Whittingham, 2008: Sugar Bowl. Probably the worst loss in the bunch. Andre Smith's uncle contacted an agent before the game and the Outland Trophy winner was suspended. Alabama came out flat, fell behind 21-0, fought back to within 4, but ultimately lost 31-17. A huge win for Utah and a huge letdown for the Tide.

Sumlin, 2012: : "Lightning in a bottle in Tuscaloosa!" Eventual Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel brought his magic to Bryant-Denny the week after Bama pulled out an emotional win at Death Valley. The Tide fell behind 20-0 early, bounced back in a big way, cutting the lead to 3, but JFF was electric and almost couldn't be stopped. Alabama turned the ball over twice in the fourth quarter(once at the Aggies 2 yard line), and then ?Tyler Hayes? jumped offsides on the punt to give Texas A&M a first down with 40 seconds left in the game. Alabama would go on to win the BCS Title.

Malzahn, 2013: In one of the most improbable games in history, Alabama and Auburn traded blows for 4 quarters, with Alabama losing on the last play of the game in almost impossible fashion. Enough said about that. Auburn would go on to lose the BCS Title game to Florida State, breaking the SEC's streak of 7 straight.

Meyer, 2015: 2015 Sugar Bowl/Playoff Semifinal. Alabama jumped out 21-6, took their foot off the gas, fell behind by two td's, came back to within 6, lost their starting linebacker, and then the game, 42-35. Ohio State would go on to win the National Title.

Swinney: In the rematch of the previous Championship Game, Alabama and Clemson went back and forth, exchanging the lead 3 times in the final 4:38. I'm not over this game enough to talk about it much.

Interestingly, of the 7 losses to current coaches, 3 of them were losses to the eventual champion, 1 to the Championship game loser, 2 to the Sugar Bowl winner, and 1 to the Heisman winner.

Edit: Had Auburn winning the title when they didn't.

4 of them were losses to the eventual champion

Auburn didn't win the title in 2013.
