Les Miles posed a big threat to N$ for many seasons. Miles coached teams nearly always played Bama to the wire. Miles, unfortunately, was more of a threat to himself.

Les beat Saban 3 times. 
one was Sabans first year at Bama when Less had a NC team and Saban had a five loss team that wasn't very good. Another was the 9-6 anomaly
