Just pointing out that Bo had multiple subpar games, more so than truly impressive ones.

I wouldn't really car them subpar, he just didn't play a whole lot except for mop up time until really the LSU game. Coaches were clearly still figuring out whether they trusted him and whether he was 100%. He was also figuring that stuff out.

Damien Harris was good but not exceptional.

Damien Harris was pretty damn good. He basically averaged 5+ YPC every SEC/P5 game and his worst games were games in which he still averaged 4+ YPC.

Like I said earlier, talent ceiling I'd give the nod to Bama RBs. Proven on field results very clearly favor AU stable of backs

Agree to disagree I guess. Alabama ran for
- 242 yards vs USC (5.38 YPC) (#42 YPA D)
- 216 yards vs LSU (4.24 YPC) (#8 YPA D)
- 203 yards vs Auburn (4.61 YPC) (#25 YPA D)
- 234 yards vs Florida (6.16 YPC) (#32 YPA D)
- 269 yards vs Washington (5.38 YPC) (#23 YPA D)
- 221 yards vs Clemson (6.50 YPC) (#24 YPA D)

And that doesn't count the massive yardage totals against the bad run defenses that Pettway put most of his yards up against (State, Ole Miss, Arkansas).

Alabama returns all the guys who ran roughshod over 4-5 pretty good run defenses last year. Pettway was great, but he didn't prove his stats against any good run defenses last year. I'm not sure what else they'd need to do to prove themselves.

Both situations are pretty good, but interestingly different. Alabama has 3-4 guys who have all proven to have big games, but don't have a workhouse type to step out yet (like Henry was) (Bo maybe but injuries sidelined that talk), while Auburn has a workhorse, a pretty good 2nd option and then unproven guys.

But again, it's really splitting hairs.

My point is you take out Hurts and those rushing numbers go way down.

Like you said, Bama has a lot of guys who show promise but haven't proven to be "the guy" like Henry did

Auburn has "the guy" and a guy PFF loved in Kerryo. Johnson as the backup

I must have missed the Auburn-Tennessee game last year.
Can't find it on the web, either.

Sounds like Pettway did really good, though. Who won?
