With the firing of Les Miles and retirement of Bob Stoops, there are now only 4 active head coaches in the P5 Conferences that have won a national title:

Nick Saban (5 with Alabama & LSU)
Urban Meyer (3 with Ohio State & Florida)
Jimbo Fisher (1 with FSU)
Dabo Swinney (1 with Clemson)

When was the last time there were this few active champion coaches? Anytime after 1950?

Saban and Meyer having pretty much run over college football the last 10-12 years.

I doubt it. Only 4 active coaches with an NC is an amazing stat when you think about it.
