This. Although even if the playoffs were in that year, Bama and LSU would of likely still faced off in the championship game. LSU would of been ranked number 1 going into the playoffs and Bama would of been number 2. Nobody else was beating either of those teams that year. Those two teams were probably top 5 all time best teams in college football history. Both were dominating on both sides of the ball (well, LSU was up until the championship game anyway). Saban just altered his game plan for that championship game and Les did not.
